Orange Armoire

You were completing some righteous quest
On behalf of the vice-royalty
Before you made some midsummer wish
Over a pool in a wood
For some knight to take you away
On an arduous journey
Across deserts, mountains, and canyons
There you'll find men looting caves
Their foreign ways are strange
As well as the potions they spray
Your adventures end so soon
Yet the tales are too fine to forget
Brilliant colored armor of mages flashing forward fast
And the brilliance cast
Upon the prodigy in the past
The darling of this realm
He's too charming to fail
You were unleashing some righteous rogue
As you peered over the walls of your fortress on a hill by the sea
Retreating into passages
A tunnel descends through chambers with robes and devices of various kinds
Costuming in weathered boots
A cloak conceals your eyes as you trespass through the lairs of spies
The relics recovered by the order of the silver spies were kept safe in the fight
You had to organize your friends to prepare for uncertain times
As your travels conclude
Jewels remain that elude you
Resting in regions far and away
The prize illuminates your face
Will you ever find the orange armoire?
Where you lost your regalia
Your searching shall go on and on

Sleeping forever inverted in charming chairs
Animation paused and mind impaired
Feeling illness in your chest
Into your place of rest
You're lulled into a slumber
Trust the distant voice requesting you to cross
Into its backwards mirror and be lost
Pillows gathered in a chest
On a tall tower to rest
Do you see my signals?
Too many times you've held the gun
Face against the wall
To find nowhere left to run
Too many times you've held the gun
Face against the wall
Too often nothing there at all
Breaching the fences that surround the vast expanse
Reaching for my shield and lance
Patrol the empty range
A knight's life is strange
And signed into service
Inviting sounds inside a maze
That you can't enter in
Entice you toward its edge
Good keepers unlock ways
Far off watchers favor you
And bequeath devices
For your efforts to exhume

I'm peaceful when I sleep
And I always keep
My favored wayward coat
Nearby for when I creep
Down stone stairs and descend
Throughout seas over shallow sands
Passing nearby wincing wanderers
With scrolls in hand
Perusing parts unknown by name
With enamourment
Pursuing routes I've never traveled to reinvent
Posing porters beseech
Far reaching farers at boundaries
Where outward ways converge
To discard their diaries
When I tread beyond the end of wells
On Ponce De Leon's quest
I tumble in a nest
Rare rewards are fleeting blissfully
Not coming back to me
Two times I've had to rest
Watching through telescopes
With bedazzlement
At fountains of far traveled architects
Brooding gateways impose
Barriers over leagues of men
As they look onward
And declare this the end

Dizzy Arrows

At the lion's head I leap
Dizzy arrows fall asleep
Into strange nations after dark
Upon some unknown mark
Write your book of perjury
And detail the lies you seize
Regarding your misplaced crusade
And some new personal campaign
Will you clean the dirt off of your hands?
Before you write of foreign lands
Lay some ointment on your brands
Finding treasure in the sand
While you soak your blistered skin
Acned with puncture wounds from pins
And nine abrasions from the wind
Around your lacerated chin
From your podium you preach
To every dirty dog you reach
Not hearing the sleaze you bark
And always fearing my remark
Although I died from leprosy
Shifty shadows follow me
Revealing power in your arc
Upon some unknown mark
